1.. IntroductionCopper extraction from Cu–Fe–S minerals is a pyrometallurgical process that entails obtaining a Cu-concentrate by froth flotation, smelting it to molten high-Cu matte, the conversion of molten matte to molten blister copper, which is finally electrorefined to ultra-pure copper.

Co and Ni were also reported in tailings. In principle, copper slag flotation is the same as sulfide ore flotation.

اقرأ المزيدResults of the flotation of converter slag were presented, and the effect of the combined flotation of slags with the ores on the recovery of copper was also evaluated. The recovery of the useful metals from the gangue, obtained as a result of the flotation process of pyrometallurgical copper slag, was discussed by ( Oprea and …
اقرأ المزيدThe flotation of copper slag can effectively recover copper, without recycling other valuable metals in the copper slag. However, this process requires a much higher water content and offers relatively low environmental benefits.
اقرأ المزيدThe report describes laboratory batch flotation tests conducted on copper converter slags to evaluate the relative merits of recovering copper from slow-cooled versus water-quenched slags. Three slags containing 1.6, 5.0, and 6.6 percent copper were used.

The copper content of the slags range between 0.8 to 5 wt. % and this is considered …
اقرأ المزيدDecreasing copper content in slag is critical for improving copper recovery, where apparent viscosity is the main factor affecting the separation of matte/copper from the slag. The viscous behavior of copper converter slag was investigated during reduction process in this paper, and its non-Newtonian viscous behavior and shear thickening …
