It was also reported in 2012 that Zuma Energy Nigeria was planning to build a 1,200 megawatt coal-fired power station in Kogi. According to Zuma Energy, the company has acquired three coal mining licenses in Kogi. Coal from the mine will be used for the Kogi power station, planned to be eight units of 150 MW.
