Bauxite is formed when aluminosilicates break down into different types of hydrated aluminium oxide. It is the main ore of aluminium. The rock is produced due to chemical weathering in tropical climates. It is also produced by leaching of silica in aluminium-bearing rocks. The aluminium rock was discovered by French geologist Pierre Berthier.

Pyrite is a brass-yellow mineral with a bright metallic luster. It has a chemical composition of iron sulfide (FeS 2) and is the most common sulfide mineral. It forms at high and low temperatures and occurs, usually in small quantities, in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks worldwide. Pyrite is so common that many …
اقرأ المزيدWater cannot dissolve a lot of iron(III) and precipitation starts, forming solid limonite or some kind of iron oxide / hydroxide. This happens primarily at whatever solids are bordering the water, and mixtures of sand / clay / peat with iron ore particles form; with the iron ore part increasing as time goes on.
اقرأ المزيدThe most widely distributed iron-bearing minerals are oxides, and iron ores consist mainly of hematite (Fe2O3), which is red; magnetite (Fe3O4), which is black; limonite or bog-iron ore (2Fe2O3·3H2O), which is brown; and siderite (FeCO3), which is pale brown. Hematite and magnetite are by far the most common types of ore.
اقرأ المزيدHematite exists in several phases (denoted &alpha--hematite;, β, &gamma--maghemite; and ε), and they are all different from ordinary rust, which is also often given the formula Fe 2 O 3. Fe 2 O 3 is the chief iron ore used in production of iron metal. FeO is nonstoichiometric.
