The results found in this literature survey allow us to conclude that recycled aggregates from CDW can be successfully used to produce construction materials with quality comparable to those produced with natural aggregates.
اقرأ المزيدThe purpose for which aggregates are sampled impacts the process and care required when sampling aggregates. The purpose for obtaining samples also establishes the procedure, frequency and size of the sample required. Aggregate samples might be obtained for source evaluation or aggregate production control,
اقرأ المزيدWaste reduction and decreasing the need for natural aggregate are significant environmental factors that should be taken into consideration. Both can be achieved by incorporating recycled concrete aggregate into fresh concrete mixes. Most previous studies on concrete incorporating recycled concrete aggregates mainly …

اقرأ المزيدWhat are aggregates? Aggregates are raw materials that are produced from natural sources and extracted from pits and quarries, including gravel, crushed stone, and sand. When used with a binding medium, like water, cement, and asphalt, they are used to form compound materials, such as asphalt concrete and Portland cement concrete.
اقرأ المزيدAggregate sampling and testing are performed for various reasons, including preliminary investigation of supply sources, production quality control at the supply source, quality control at the construction or industrial process site, and acceptance or rejection (quality assurance) of materials by customers or project owners.
اقرأ المزيدUnfortunately, aggregate resources necessary to meet societal needs cannot be developed without causing environmental impacts. Most environmental impacts associated with aggregate mining are benign. Extracting aggregate seldom produces acidic mine drainage or other toxic affects commonly associated with mining of metallic or energy resources.
اقرأ المزيدResource utilization of construction and demolition (C&D) waste has great potential to significantly reduce the consumption of natural resources and improve the environment. Meanwhile, establishing a sound policy system and reducing production are the key ways to solve the problem of C&D waste. Numerous studies on C&D waste, …
اقرأ المزيدAn increment of 15% on compressive strength was obtained for river natural aggregates and recycled replacement ratio, while a decrease of approximately 10–25% was observed for mixtures with crushed natural aggregates performed under similar manufacturing conditions.

The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of the crushing of natural aggregate on the LA crumbling strength index. Two types of aggregates were analyzed—natural gravel and natural …
اقرأ المزيدEmployment in urban and suburban areas is commonly defined by the workplace and transportation structures, which are comprised largely of aggregate. The natural capital embodied in aggregates is transformed into economic capital derived from the profits from the sale of aggregates.
اقرأ المزيدUtilization of recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) as a replacement for natural aggregates in innovative concrete has gained fame around the world as a way to decrease natural aggregate use. The building sector produces a huge amount of concrete waste as a result of...
اقرأ المزيدNatural aggregates (NA) are crushed and processed in crushing plants after the extraction stage in quarries. In the present study, the aggregates are divided into three scenarios, depending on the production methods. The first scenario considers the production of NA, the second scenario deals with the production of recycled aggregates …
اقرأ المزيدRecycled aggregates (RA) from construction and demolition waste (CDW) instead of natural aggregates (NA) were analysed in the manufacture of new eco-friendly concrete. Fine (FRA) and coarse (CRA) recycled aggregates were used in different percentages as substitutes of natural sand and gravel, respectively. The results revealed that the use of …
اقرأ المزيدA comparative analysis of the experimental results of the properties of fresh and hardened concrete with different replacement ratios of natural with recycled coarse aggregate is presented in the paper. Recycled aggregate was made by crushing the waste concrete of laboratory test cubes and precast concrete columns. Three types of concrete …
اقرأ المزيدMaterials play a fundamental role in any branch of civil engineering. From ancient times to the present day, society has required enormous amounts of construction materials, which implies an excessive exploitation of the natural environment. The present research work consisted in the design and development of asphalt mixes with a partial …
